Here is Candice’s story:
“I lived a very hard life. I grew up in a home with extreme abuse and dysfunction. Therefore, I chose a life of drug addiction, crime, and violence for 25 years, with the last six spent living in a homeless encampment here in the riverbed of San Diego. One of the many consequences of that lifestyle was the breaking and losing of my teeth.
On May 26, 2020, I surrendered it all and entered a faith‑based recovery program where my life was radically changed. However, every day I faced a reflection in the mirror that caused me heartache and grief. My broken teeth were a source of insecurity, shame, and regret.
Joel 2:25 tells us that one of the promises of God is that He will restore the years the locusts have eaten. Little did I know the first time I read that scripture that one of those promises would be fulfilled by Dr. Elona Gaball.
The work she has done for me has instilled a confidence in me that, honestly, I’ve never had before. There are no words to describe the deep gratitude I have for this wonderful woman and the gift she has given me of a truly radiant smile. It’s interesting how this has profoundly affected my heart as well as all my daily interactions with people.
