Truth about misaligned teeth! + FREE ZOOM WHITENING FOR A SPECIAL LADY

Hello Ohana!

This week we will be going back to our discussion on teeth misalignment.

In January we started a Series we are calling “The Truth About Misaligned Teeth.” If you missed it or would like to review, please check your January 30th email from us. As you may recall, there are quite a few misconceptions about misaligned teeth that are very important to dismantle. Truth is always a great foundation upon which to build.

These are the most common misconceptions:

  • Misaligned teeth do not affect oral health
  • Misaligned teeth are not related to systemic health
  • Misaligned teeth are not noticed by others
  • Misaligned teeth correction is only for cosmetic purposes
  • Misaligned teeth don’t require treatment
  • Let’s take #1.

Truth : misaligned teeth ABSOLUTELY affect oral health, here is how:

  • More harmful bacteria that causes bad breath, decay, gum disease and systemic bactremia  ( bacteria in blood stream ) collect around misaligned teeth.
  • Bactria that collects around misaligned teeth enters the systemic blood stream and affects primarily the heart, but other major organs too.
  • Misaligned teeth prevent the tongue from resting freely in the front part of the mouth, directly behind upper form teeth.  This, in turn, pushes the tongue back and restricts the airway and ability to get proper ventilation (air exchange) for the body.
  • Misaligned teeth do not allow for proper bite force distribution, cause muscle disharmony, which in turn causes pain in the head and neck muscles and headaches.
  • Uneven force distribution from teeth not being in the correct positions causes tooth wear, restorations not lasting as long as intended, replacement of restorations, pain, tooth loss or chipped/broken teeth, and TMJ disorder.

    • Ongoing tooth pain
    • Teeth sensitivity
    • Gum disease
    • Mouth odor
    • Fillings and crowns not lasting
    • Teeth wear
    • Clenching and grinding
    • Waking up at night
    • Waking up tired in the mornings
    • Headaches
    • Emotional instability : ups and downs
    • Lack of mental clarity and focus
    • Uncomfortable bite
    • Chipped or broken teeth
    • Teeth appearing long and yellow
    • Ear pain or ringing in your ears

All of the above are signs of what’s called “Occlusal Disease” - instability within the chewing systems. A part of that disease is teeth being misaligned, in incorrect positions for health, long term sustainable function and optimal aesthetics.

I specialize in providing answers and solutions to the above and many more sings and symptoms patients experience by identifying, accurately diagnosing and successfully treating Occlusal Disease.

If you have any of the above symptoms, DO NOT WAIT until things get worse and you need more extensive and costly treatment, or experience loss of peace due to pain, productivity at work, and precious time with loved ones.
